‘when I was much younger, I thought that one of the defining differences between a man and a boy was that a man had to shave everyday. then I grew up and shaved everyday and still felt like a boy, and still felt judged like a boy.
I knew I wasn’t a boy anymore, that I wasn’t the person that people saw when first introduced to me and that I needed to show a little bit more of a personal identity.
so the idea of a beard came into my head. my confidence grew and people showed more interest, particularly women. and I know that it resembles several of my favorite authors, historical figures and musicians’.
